Why I love Mondays

For the first Monday of the new year, I want to share joyfulness, since I believe we benefit from sharing the things that we want for ourselves (hugs, smiles, words of affirmation, gifts, quality time, a helping hand, etc.).  One reason I love Mondays is that I get to walk with a friend after work, my top two love languages being quality time and acts of service, so visiting with me for an hour and helping me get the exercise I need really fills my heart with joy. I have a job that I enjoy, too, which makes it easier to at least accept Mondays. Finally, Monday evenings are usually free, so if I didn't get everything done that I needed to on Sunday, I can finish up things like putting away all the clean laundry and dishes that are hopefully dry by now from being washed yesterday. Have you found a reason to love Mondays yet? If not, I challenge you to find one, not just for the first Monday of the year, but something consistent that you can look forward to every week. If you love life, you can love Mondays because it's another day of life! God bless you friends.

Love,

A

Hello Sunday. Have I told you lately that I love you?

Why do I love Sundays? They're catch up days. They're autonomous days. I can sleep, eat and get things done on my schedule. Every other day of the week I have to cater to other people and work my schedule around them, but not on Sundays. Last night after returning late from our friends' house we fell asleep in the basement because the wood stove makes it so nice and cozy that it's hard to leave. With the thick dark curtains covering the glass walk-out basement door, it's easier to sleep in past 8 (gasp) since you don't notice the sun for a while. Before my smoothie breakfast at 1 p.m., I rearranged our bedroom, put away all the clean dishes, start a load of laundry, spend 45 minutes on the elliptical while drinking my lime water (organic limes are cheaper than organic lemons and I haven't done a yield comparison yet), and tidy pretty much everywhere, accumulating over 6,000 steps on O's pedometer (because his has yet to find out whether it is me-proof, whereas mine has proven it is not).
